Plastic Cable Glands

Plastic Cable glands are designed to permit, the entry of cable wires into electrical equipment or components which provides earthing, grounding, bonding, insulation, sealing, retention, and strain relief. It also provides mechanical support for cables. They are often placed in hazardous or harsh surroundings where they need to contain electrical sparks of flames or resists outside contaminants such as dirt, fluids, and dust. Along with this, their job is to prevent cables from twisting to ensure secure connectivity with continual performance.

Different types and features of Plastic cable glands:

  • Metric connection thread – Plastic glands (DBSPM) are manufactured from polyamide. It features metric thread, and is very easy to assemble. It is used for every universal application, such as different electrical and mechanical equipment, for controlling and automation, and for manufacturing devices.

Technical data of DBSPM:
1.Temperature range

  • Static: – 40 degree centigrade to +100 degree centigrade
  • Dynamic: – 20 degree centigrade to +80 degree centigrade

2. Protection class – IP 68-5 bar

3. Material:

  • Body – Polyamide
  • Sealing – Neoprene

4. Standard colour:

  • RAL 7001silver grey
  • RAL 9005 black
  • Bending protection – Plastic glands (DAPPM) this device prevents bending of cables, hence eliminating movements around the device. This is a very important feature that provides safety to the moving and revolving parts of the device, which is a crucial factor for the setup to operate in many cases. It is used on a number of handheld devices. Its spiral shape helps to prevent conductor break, hence reducing chances of failure.

Technical data of DAPPM:

1. Temperature range:

– 20 degree centigrade to +80 degree centigrade

2. Protection class – IP 68-5 bar

3. Material:

  1. Body – Polyamide
  2. Sealing – Neoprene

4. Standard color:

RAL 7001silver grey

  • PG connection thread – Plastic gland (DBSPP) this gland is manufactured from polyamide. It is used for the same purpose as DBSPM. Let us look at its technical data:
